What We Install
Walk-In Coolers & Freezers, Built to Spec.
One in-house team. End-to-end accountability. Site assessment to commissioning.
Walk-In Coolers
Custom-built walk-in coolers, from compact 8×8 restaurant boxes to full 40-foot produce rooms. We spec Heatcraft, KeepRite, and Trenton refrigeration units sized to your exact load, with engineered panel kits and a free commissioning check on every build.
Walk-In Freezers
Walk-in freezers engineered for -10°F holding and fast temperature recovery, with 4-inch and 6-inch urethane panel options. Built for bakeries, food processors, and distribution centres across Ontario. Builds can be specified for CFIA, HACCP, SQF, and BRC requirements.
Custom Cold Storage Rooms
Large-scale cold rooms, dual-zone combination units, and food processing builds, turnkey from engineering drawings to final commissioning. We've done everything from 500 sq ft specialty cold rooms to 20,000 sq ft distribution freezers.
Walk-In Coolers & Freezers for Sale
New walk-in coolers and freezers for sale, built to your floor plan and installed by our own crew. One quote covers panels, door, refrigeration, install, and commissioning, with trade-in credits on replacement projects.
Reach-In Refrigeration
Commercial reach-in coolers and reach-in freezers for front-of-house display and back-of-house prep. Sourced, delivered, and installed alongside your walk-in build.
Decision Page
Repair or Replace?
Aging walk-in cooler or freezer failing on you? We help operators across Ontario decide whether the unit is worth fixing or whether a new build will pay for itself faster. Straight diagnosis, no upsell.
Maintenance
Scheduled preventative maintenance on walk-in coolers and freezers WFE installed. Quarterly, semi-annual, or annual cadences. Same crew that built the unit handles the PM visits, with a written service log on every appointment.
Refrigeration Parts
Commercial refrigeration parts supplier across Ontario. Compressors, evaporators, condensing units, door gaskets, controllers, and fan motors from Heatcraft, KeepRite, Copeland, and Tecumseh. B2B procurement for techs and operators servicing walk-ins.
Replacement Projects
Replacing an aging walk-in?
Failed panels, dying refrigeration, or a box past its service life: a replacement is a planned swap, not a teardown. We quote it to your existing footprint and sequence the work so you keep operating.
- Existing footprint: quoted to your current dimensions and layout, no redesign required.
- Removal and disposal: the old box comes out and gets hauled away as part of the scope.
- Trade-in credit: applied where the old unit still has worth.
- Downtime plan: the swap is sequenced around your operating week, with temporary cold storage scoped where inventory is at risk.

In-House Install Crews. Start to Finish.
Every WFE project is designed, built, and installed by the same crew that took your first call. A long-tenured in-house team that has been building walk-ins together for years, not job to job. When your compressor needs attention at month 18, you call the same number. Full accountability from first measurement to final commissioning sign-off.
-
Standard Install: About 2 Weeks From Approval.
Because we control the crews and the schedule, a standard walk-in cooler or freezer is installed and commissioned within about 2 weeks of quote approval, against an industry norm of 4 to 6 weeks. Larger custom and multi-zone builds run longer, and we give you a firm date up front. No waiting on a subcontractor's calendar.
-
Every Unit Custom-Cut to Your Floor Plan.
No standard box sizes forced into awkward corners. Every WFE cooler and freezer is built to the exact clear-span dimensions taken during your free site assessment.
-
Failure Diagnostics — By the Crew That Installed It.
When a walk-in fails, WFE answers the diagnostic call during business hours and routes the fix to a refrigeration repair partner we've worked with for years. Because we installed your system, we know the spec, so there's no troubleshooting delay and no third-party finger-pointing.

What You Actually Want to Know.
What's the difference between a walk-in cooler, a walk in fridge, and a supermarket refrigerator?
Same equipment, different names. Walk-in cooler and walk in fridge mean the same thing: a refrigeration unit large enough to walk into. A supermarket refrigerator usually refers to the same equipment installed for grocery operations. WFE designs, builds, and installs all three, sized to your floor plan rather than pulled from a catalog.
Do you build industrial fridges, industrial freezers, and cold storage warehouses?
Yes. Beyond standard commercial walk-in coolers and freezers, WFE builds industrial fridges and freezers from 500 sq ft up to 20,000+ sq ft, multi-zone cold rooms and distribution-scale cold storage warehouses. Full scope on our custom cold storage page.
How much does a walk-in cooler or freezer cost in Ontario?
Walk-in pricing depends on envelope size, refrigeration spec, doors, and site conditions. Standard walk-ins, custom cold rooms, and food processing environments price very differently. Every project starts with a free site assessment, and we quote each build after a site review.
How long does installation take from the day I approve the quote?
Most standard walk-in coolers and freezers are fully installed in about 2 weeks of quote approval, against an industry norm of 4 to 6 weeks. Because WFE uses our own in-house crews (not subcontractors), we're not waiting on third-party availability.
Do I need a building permit for a walk-in cooler or freezer in Ontario?
It depends on your municipality and the size of the unit. Electrical and refrigeration permits almost always apply. WFE's design-build service includes full permit management.
Do you offer financing for commercial cold storage projects?
Yes. Rather than lending in-house, WFE introduces you to two established Canadian equipment-finance partners, Grenke Leasing and Econolease. They underwrite walk-in cooler, freezer, and cold storage installs as standard equipment collateral, with flexible terms and fast approval. Full details on our financing page.
What's the difference between WFE and a national equipment dealer?
National dealers ship you a flat-pack and hand you a manual. WFE designs, builds to spec, and installs using the same team that sold you the project.
Do you service all of Ontario, including areas outside Toronto?
Yes. We cover the full province: GTA, Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Ottawa, Kingston, Barrie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and everything in between.
What warranty comes with a WFE walk-in cooler or freezer?
Every WFE install ships with a 1-year workmanship warranty on the labor and a 1-year guarantee on new equipment, plus an optional manufacturer compressor warranty up to 5 years. Full claim process and what is and is not covered on our warranty page.
Can you build CFIA or Health Canada compliant cold storage?
Yes. All WFE installations are built to Ontario Building Code and can be specified to meet CFIA, Health Canada, SQF, HACCP, and BRC audit requirements.
