Service / Used & Refurbished
WFE sells certified pre-owned walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, and commercial refrigerators refurbished in-house, at a fraction of new-build cost. Same in-house crew that builds our new units handles delivery, refrigeration commissioning, and operator training. Typical floor stock includes commercial refrigerators for sale, commercial freezers for sale, and the occasional complete walk-in cooler box for sale.
The refrigeration plant is pulled, stripped, and bench-tested before reassembly. A written inspection report goes to you before delivery, not after.
Workshop-ready pre-owned units skip the fabrication and panel lead time on a new build.
3 months on the compressor, condenser, evaporator, and electrical from commissioning, plus our standard WFE install labour warranty.
Every unit refurbished
Every used walk-in WFE sells gets a full workshop refurbishment before it ships. If a refurbished unit is not the right fit for your operation, we will quote you a new build instead.
A full WFE workshop pass before the pre-owned unit ships. Same warranty conversation as a new build, at a fraction of the installed cost.
A fraction of comparable new-build installed cost. Exact savings depend on unit condition and spec, so we quote per unit.
3-month install warranty on the refrigeration plant, plus our standard WFE labour warranty.
Operators who want the cost savings without the operational risk. Restaurants, grocery, food processing, anyone who calls a service company when something drifts off-spec.
The refurbishment process
Same workflow on every refurbished walk-in. The condition report follows the unit to your site.
Unit removed from site, photographed, and serial-logged. Operating history and original install records captured before anything is disassembled.
Refrigeration plant, doors, controls, and hardware all come off. Every component flagged for repair, replace, or pass-through.
Compressor bench-tested. New gaskets. Coil brushed and pressure-checked. Electrical re-loomed. Panel seams re-sealed.
Same standard as a new build. Doors squared, controls calibrated, refrigeration set up by a 313A-licensed tech.
Final pull-down test confirms set-point. The condition report is photographed and the 3-month warranty is issued; the unit moves to the available floor.
Typically in stock
We do not publish a stock catalogue because units move within days of being listed. Call (905) 565-0291 with the cubic-foot range and operating temp you need; we will send a same-day shortlist of used refrigeration equipment currently in the workshop.
GTA restaurant standard sizing. Used commercial fridge for sale starting in this cubic-foot range. Pulled from closing locations and replacement-side trade-ins.
Used walk-in freezer for sale at back-of-house frozen-storage standard. 6″ urethane panels, heated door frames, electric defrost.
Cooler and freezer in one envelope with a shared insulated wall. Pulled from grocery replacement projects.
Multi-unit operator buyouts refurbished in-house, usually installed as part of a store fitout or alongside a walk-in. Commercial fridge second hand and reach-in freezers.
Tell us the cubic-foot range and operating temp.
We will send what is on the floor today, by end of day.
5-point inspection
Use this if you are shopping a used walk-in freezer for sale elsewhere too. The same checks apply whether a listing calls it a used commercial freezer or a commercial freezer second hand. WFE inspects all five on every refurbished unit and gives you the inspection report before you commit.

Indicates moisture-saturated insulation. Unfixable short of replacing the panel.
A leak you will pay for in energy cost forever. Gaskets are cheap to replace before delivery and expensive to ignore.
A major freezer-floor repair that is easy to miss on a cursory inspection. Test the circuit, do not just look.
R22 is phased out and now expensive to service. Recharge costs have multiplied and long-term supply is uncertain.
The real cost comparison
Cost-per-year-of-life is often comparable. The real difference is where the money goes and when you spend it.
Delivery, install & service
Delivery and on-site assembly go to our in-house WFE team, the same people you would get on a new build. Refrigeration commissioning, electrical hookup, and operator training included.
Refurbished and certified, straight to install scheduling.
Full workshop pass before delivery, same scope as our recommended option.

Other Canadian provinces available on a scheduled basis. See the cooler installation page and freezer installation page for full new-build detail.
What a refurbished unit looks like
Three views of finished WFE-installed walk-ins (these are new builds; current refurbished inventory photos available on request). The construction quality, door hardware, and refrigeration finish on a refurbished unit are matched to this same standard before delivery.
Every refurbished WFE walk-in ships with a WFE-branded NSF dial thermometer and a Dixell digital controller, calibrated and labeled before the unit leaves the Mississauga shop.
Interior of a completed WFE walk-in. Dual ceiling evaporators on opposite walls, sealed panel joints, and a clean concrete floor are the standard finish on every refurbished unit before delivery.
A finished standalone walk-in in our Mississauga workshop. Refurbished units leave the shop matched to this same panel, door hardware, and seal standard before delivery.
Why Used & Refurbished operators call WFE
“When it comes to World Food, they mean business. They provided the best cooling solution for my commercial property and even saved me money on machinery that other companies told me are "required". Best prices, best service, & best quality, World Food is always going to be on speed dial for my business needs.”
