Service / Refrigeration Parts

Walk-In Cooler & Freezer Refrigeration Parts in Ontario. By request, not by catalog.

WFE is a commercial refrigeration parts supplier across Ontario. We stock the major components that keep walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers running: compressors, evaporator and condensing units, door gaskets, refrigeration controllers and thermostats, fan motors, and panel components. Heatcraft, KeepRite, Copeland, and Tecumseh are the four manufacturer lines we keep in inventory. Trade-account procurement, not a retail counter; the parts inventory exists to support real install and service work.

Components

What we source.

The major parts on a walk-in cooler or walk-in freezer, across four manufacturer lines. Common SKUs are stocked locally at the Mississauga location; specialty parts ship from the manufacturer.

01

Compressors

Single-phase and three-phase. Scroll, recip, and semi-hermetic. The walk-in cooler compressor and walk-in freezer compressor sit at the center of the parts conversation. Whether it is a model swap or a compressor for walk in cooler service work, we cross-reference the nameplate before quoting.

Evaporator & Condensing Units

Low-profile ceiling-mount evaporators and unit-cooler styles. Self-contained and remote condensing units. A walk in cooler evaporator gets sized by BTU load and temperature differential, not by physical fit alone.

03

Door Gaskets, Hinges & Latches

Standard and custom-cut gasket profiles, edge-mount and door-mount styles. Cam-lift hinges, magnetic latches, door closers, heated frames. Swing and slide doors.

Four Manufacturer Lines

Direct supplier relationships with the four lines on Ontario walk-ins.

Mixing brands works for many parts, but a Tecumseh condensing unit gets a Tecumseh replacement compressor: same-manufacturer sourcing keeps the warranty and defrost integration clean.

How parts procurement works

Trade-supply workflow,
not retail counter.

The parts inventory exists to support our install and service work. That means a different workflow than an online parts catalog, and a more accurate first order.

01
You send

Nameplate or model number

A photo of the unit’s nameplate is best. Failing that, the model number plus voltage and refrigerant. We need the spec, not the description.

02
We confirm

SKU, stock status, lead time

Cross-referenced against the unit installed. Same-day pickup on stocked SKUs at the Mississauga location; 3 to 10 business-day lead time on manufacturer ship-out. Quoted firm before you authorize.

03
You receive

Pickup or scheduled ship-out

Trade accounts with billing on file get the part out the door faster. Operators of WFE-installed walk-ins get the part installed on a maintenance visit if it fits the schedule.

Deep Dive

The long answer, when the short one is not enough.

Trade-account procurement, not a retail parts counter.

The parts inventory exists to support WFE’s install and maintenance work, so it runs as a trade supply line, not a walk-in retail counter: known models, known specs, and turnaround times that match a working refrigeration tech’s job. If you are a walk-in operator with a failing unit who needs a part today and you do not have a refrigeration tech engaged, the better call is to start with a diagnostic so we can spec the part correctly the first time. The diagnostic visit feeds into either a parts order, a partner-network repair referral, or a replacement quote, depending on what the unit needs. See repair or replace for the diagnostic workflow.

Why same-manufacturer parts matter on a refrigeration replacement.

Heatcraft, KeepRite, Copeland, and Tecumseh are four of the main commercial refrigeration manufacturer lines used across Ontario walk-in installs. We keep direct supplier relationships with each. That matters for parts in two ways. First, sourcing the correct OEM component for the unit actually installed is faster than substituting between brands: a Tecumseh condensing unit gets a Tecumseh replacement compressor, not a generic compatible swap. Second, components from the same manufacturer family are designed to spec-match. A Heatcraft evaporator paired with a Heatcraft compressor and a Heatcraft controller is a designed system, not a parts collection. Mixing brands works in many cases (the refrigeration cycle is the refrigeration cycle) but the warranty story gets murkier, the defrost-cycle integration is less clean, and the controller compatibility usually requires extra wiring or a translator board. We default to the original manufacturer when sourcing a replacement and only deviate when the original line discontinues a model or the customer specifically requests a swap. See the about page for more on the manufacturer relationships.

What we do not stock.

WFE does not stock residential refrigeration, ice machine, supermarket display case, or standalone reach-in commercial cooler parts. Each is a separate equipment category with its own service network (the scope list above names the brands). We supply commercial walk-in cooler, walk-in freezer, and custom cold storage components from the four manufacturer lines listed above.

In-stock vs ship-from-manufacturer lead times.

Common parts on the four manufacturer lines are stocked locally for same-day or next-day pickup at the Mississauga location; less common and specialty parts ship from the manufacturer with typical lead times of 3 to 10 business days. We confirm stock status and quote a firm lead time before the order ships. For a refrigeration tech on a service call, that stocked-vs-shipped distinction usually decides whether the unit is back online today or next week, which is why we keep the most common SKUs local.

Compressor sourcing specifically.

Compressor replacement is the single highest-cost component event in a walk-in cooler or freezer’s service life, and the part most commonly misordered. The reason: compressors look similar across manufacturers and capacity classes but the spec sheet matters. A 2-HP scroll compressor on a Heatcraft condensing unit is not the same part as a 2-HP recip compressor in a Tecumseh condensing unit at the same nominal capacity. The R-410A vs R-448A vs R-404A refrigerant question matters. The voltage matters (208V vs 230V vs 460V three-phase). The oil type matters. We cross-reference the existing nameplate before quoting a replacement, and on the rare occasion the original spec is no longer available, we walk through the substitution math (capacity, oil, refrigerant) with the refrigeration tech before ordering anything. Compressor swaps are not a place to guess; the cost of a wrong order is high.

Pickup, delivery, and procurement workflow.

Requests come in by phone or email; we confirm the SKU, stock status, and price; you authorize the order; we set the part aside for pickup at the Mississauga location or schedule the manufacturer ship-out. Trade accounts with billing on file skip the upfront-payment step, and operators of WFE-installed walk-ins can have the part fitted on a maintenance visit in the same trip.

FAQ · 04 Answers

Parts buyers ask first.

01

Does WFE sell parts to anyone, or only trade accounts?

Parts procurement is primarily for refrigeration technicians, facility maintenance managers, general contractors ordering for jobs, and operators of walk-in coolers or walk-in freezers WFE installed or maintains. Non-WFE units are handled case-by-case. We are not a retail parts counter and we do not stock for one-off consumer transactions.
02

How fast can WFE get a part?

Common parts on the four manufacturer lines (standard compressors, fan motors, door gaskets in standard profiles, refrigeration controllers, contactors, pressure switches, line-set fittings, drain pan heaters) are stocked locally at the Mississauga location and available for same-day or next-day pickup. Less common and specialty parts (custom gasket profiles, larger industrial compressors, specialty controllers, replacement insulation panels) ship from the manufacturer with lead times typically 3 to 10 business days. We confirm stock status and quote a firm lead time before the order ships.
03

Can I order a specific compressor or evaporator model?

Yes. Compressor and evaporator orders start with a nameplate photo or model number. We cross-reference the spec (capacity, refrigerant type, voltage, oil type, mounting configuration) against current manufacturer inventory and quote the exact replacement before ordering. For older units where the original line has been revised, we walk through the substitution math with the customer’s refrigeration tech and confirm compatibility before placing the order.
04

How do I open a trade account with WFE for parts procurement?

Trade accounts are available for refrigeration service companies, general contractors with recurring commercial refrigeration work, and facility management companies with multi-location accounts. The application process is a phone conversation followed by a short trade-reference exchange; once the account is open, billing terms run net-30 with parts orders authorized by phone or email against the account. Contact us at (905) 565-0291 to start the conversation.
